VinFast Plans 50+ Electric Motorcycle Showrooms Across 34 Indian Cities

VinFast India has signed letters of intent with more than 50 dealer partners to establish a dedicated electric two-wheeler network across 15 states and union territories.

Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast is expanding its presence in India’s electric two-wheeler market. The company has signed Letters of Intent (LOIs) with more than 50 dealer partners to establish electric motorcycle showrooms across 34 cities in 15 states and union territories.

Announced on October 8, 2026, the agreements mark VinFast’s first dedicated distribution network for electric two-wheelers in India. The signing ceremony took place at the company’s manufacturing complex in Hai Phong, Vietnam, during a visit by Indian dealer partners.

According to VinFast, the planned network will help the company reach more customers in key two-wheeler markets across the country.

VinFast’s Planned Electric Two-Wheeler Network

The proposed dealership network will cover major markets in northern, central, western, southern and eastern India.

Central IndiaMadhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh
West IndiaMaharashtra and Gujarat
South IndiaKarnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh
East IndiaWest Bengal and Odisha

The company plans to establish more than 50 showrooms across these 34 cities. However, the announcement concerns Letters of Intent with prospective dealer partners and does not confirm that all the planned showrooms are already operational.

Charging Infrastructure and After-Sales Support

Alongside dealership expansion, VinFast says it is working on charging infrastructure and after-sales services to support customers throughout vehicle ownership.

Anurag Saxena, CEO of VinFast India E-Scooters, said the partnerships mark the beginning of the company’s effort to bring its electric motorcycles to customers across India. He also highlighted charging infrastructure and after-sales support as important parts of the expansion.

The development of these services will be important as the company builds its electric two-wheeler business. Dealership availability, service access and charging options can influence customers’ decisions when considering an electric scooter or motorcycle.

VinFast has not detailed the opening dates of individual showrooms in this announcement.

Why Is VinFast Expanding in India?

India is a major market for two-wheelers, with petrol-powered scooters and motorcycles serving a wide range of daily commuting needs. Electric two-wheelers offer an alternative for customers looking to reduce their dependence on petrol.

VinFast cited 21.41 million two-wheelers registered in India during FY2025-26, with electric vehicles accounting for 6.54% of registrations, according to the company’s announcement. The figures point to the potential for further electric vehicle adoption in the country’s two-wheeler segment.

For VinFast, building a dealer network across multiple regions is an important step towards entering this market. The company will need to establish its retail presence and provide dependable after-sales support as it competes with existing electric two-wheeler brands.

What It Means for Indian Buyers

The planned expansion could give customers in more Indian cities access to VinFast’s electric two-wheelers. However, the practical impact will depend on when the showrooms open, which models are introduced in India, and the availability of servicing and charging facilities.

VinFast entered India’s electric mobility market in 2025, with activities covering the distribution, manufacturing and assembly of electric cars. The new dealer partnerships represent another phase of its expansion in the country, this time focused on electric two-wheelers.

For now, the company has announced its dealership expansion plans but has not provided a city-wise opening schedule in the press release.
